How the Session does – Work

Administration & Finance

Members: 

Pete Bissman, Chuck Gay, Sharon Ward,  Don King, Debbie Brokamp (elder)

Mission Statement:

To make a difference by managing financial and human resources in ways to show we are good stewards of God’s gifts.

Responsibilities:

Managing our financial resources; stewardship & pledging; Treasurers; Endowment & Memorial funds; Personnel; statutory agent; hiring and training personnel; monthly and annual financial reports; other streams of income- bazaar, spring & fall sales; Clerk; historian & historical records; policies on prevention of sexual misconduct; phone directory; long range planning; attendance & maintenance of membership roll; providing policies and systems to keep information flowing.

Worship & Music

Members:

Mission Statement:

Making a difference in the life of LPC by providing opportunities for spiritual growth by offering church school programming, small groups and spiritual retreats.

Responsibilities:

Providing opportunities for all ages to grow in faith; nurturing through education, retreats, Bible study, mentoring; new members assimilation; small groups; talent bank and gift assessment and use; Church School superintendent; teacher training; seasonal activities; youth groups; confirmation; sacraments classes; VBS: leadership development; Nominating committee; planning for balanced program of growth, that all members may be equipped as mentors.  Planning and involving LPC in passionate worship and inspiring music; choirs, bells, children’s chimes, concerts; special services and events; ushers, acolytes, greeters, liturgists, communion servers, guest ministers; aesthetics of worship space; bulletins; policies and schedules for sacraments; flow of worship service; children’s moment; praise services; oversight of organist, music director, and musicians; hymnals; facilitating joyful and creative worship of our Triune God

Outreach

Members:

Mission Statement:

The Evangelism Team shall be a ministry of community outreach to share the good news of Jesus Christ.  The success of our efforts will be measured in spiritual growth and increased membership.

Responsibilities:

Developing strategies to reach our communities with the Good News of Jesus as well as marketing and promoting LPC; “welcomers”; G.R.O.W.; special community events; hospitality; web site; Bring a Friend; witnessing; outreach in neighborhoods; newsletter; visitors’ secretary; 24-hr visits; publicity; newspaper ads; building bridges to our diverse community

Mission Statement:  The Education Team exists to provide the opportunities for worshipers of all ages and backgrounds to become disciples of Christ, share their knowledge, further their understanding of the faith and deepen their relationship with God.

Mission Statement:

The purpose of the care ministry team is to provide more opportunities for our members to exercise their own care giving gifts within our church family and our friends and family members outside the church.  The ministry that we provide with our gifts helps everyone experience God’s love and concern for all people in a variety of ways: Prayer Connection, Prayer Chain, Prayer Families, Helping Hands, Shepherd Program, Hospital & Shut In Visits, College Care Packages

Responsibilities:

Shepherding and meeting the needs within our congregation; counseling & communion to shut-ins; prayer connection; prayer chain; life passages; prayer families; phone tree; helping hand; cards; transportation; college care packages; shut-in visitation; making a difference in the ways we care and support one another

Mission Statement:

To make a difference by carrying out Christ’s mandate to help those in need in Loveland, Greater Cincinnati, and to the ends of the earth, by filling needs while providing self sufficiency.

Responsibilities:

Challenging LPC with Christ’s mandate to share Good News in Loveland, Greater Cincinnati area, and to the ends of the earth; emergency assistance; gift baskets; mission barrel; LIFE; Nast-Trinity; liaison with Scouts; coordinate projects with other missions – Habitat for Humanity, VOA; special offerings; reports on partnerships and interpretation of foreign mission support; mission inserts; Mission Yearbook

Mission Statement:

Property committee is dedicated to using our God given talents to provide a pleasing place to worship by maintaining building and property and upgrading when needed.

Responsibilities:

Providing a safe, hospitable, and affordably maintained facility for the various LPC ministries; policies and permission for use of facilities; supervise custodian; planning for future building use; building equipment use; insurance; oversee bids & contracts
