Attention LPC Women!

Please join us at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at The Works for dinner and planning time to determine the future of our LPC Women's group.  Should we meet once a

month?  Is there a particular devotion we should focus on?  What will the role of mission play?  We welcome any and all  ideas!  If you cannot make it to the dinner, but would like to express your opinion, see Becky McQuade, Rose Stephens or Leslie Westcott.

LPC Canoe and Church Picnic

We sure have been busy beavers doing many outreach projects (Nast Trinity, Relay for Life, Amazing Race, Gardening, Granny's garden, Church has left the building, VBS, etc).  Now it is time we had some fun for ourselves as a church family.  We have a day filled with fun for all.  Come to part of the day or all depending on where your interest lies.  After church on Sunday August 17, we will head down to Loveland Canoe Livery and do a 5 mile canoe trip.  The canoe rental is $34.00 per canoe; each canoe holds 2-3 people.  At 4:00, we will head to LPC Butterfly Pavilion and back yard for old fashioned games ( horse shoes, corn hole, sack races and more) and then have a pot luck with pulled pork meal together at 5:30  We encourage you to invite family, friends and neighbors to come canoe, play games, and enjoy a meal with your LPC family.  We will have cards available in for you to hand out to invite someone.

Any questions see the Outreach Committee

Boxes of tissue                                                      Protractors

Sandwich bags                                                       Safety scissors

Crayons (24 count)                                               Erasers

Washable markers                                                 Book covers

Update!  Harvest Bazaar!

Our annual Harvest Bazaar will be Saturday, October 18.  We will open at 2:00 in the afternoon and scale back our "booths."  This plan should allow us more time and energy to focus on our fabulous turkey dinner.  We will still have children's games, a bake sale, crafts and silent auction gift baskets.   We will not be soliciting outside vendors, but welcome any church members who have things to sell, for a nominal booth fee.  The jury is still out on outdoor décor, split the pot, raffle and people to people.  I need folks to step up and agree to be in charge of booths/activities, especially on the "jury is still out" items!  Please email or call me with your interest, ideas, etc.  Thanks, Leslie Westcott.

A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR GIRLS

IN GRADES SIX THROUGH EIGHT!!!

Bethel Murdoch, Grace Presbyterian and LPC will be sponsoring a wonderful opportunity in the form of a fun program, for girls grades 6 - 8, on the topic of self esteem. It is called, "I AM WHO I AM" and is Christian message based.   It will be held at Grace on Saturday, September 6, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.  There will be discussion groups, music, food, gifts, entertainment, but the best part, is that it is FREE!!!  We would like to promote this awesome opportunity to all girls, church affiliated or not.  If you know of a girl who would be interested, or you can promote this in any way (place of business, girl scout troop, etc.) please see Leslie Westcott.  I could use a few volunteers to serve food to the girls.  We are also looking for donations of home baked cookies for our snack time and donations of door prizes in the form of gift certificates, any denomination, from places that would appeal to this age girl, like Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, movie tickets, Claire's, etc.  See Jan Nye to order your gift certificates and donate to this worthy endeavor!  Registration forms will be available beginning this Sunday, or can be downloaded at www.thebmpc.org.
