Beliefs

We, the Session of Loveland Presbyterian Church, do believe and teach that Jesus is the way to salvation. Salvation is a free gift from God, available to all who put their trust in Jesus, the only Son of God, and who proclaim Him as Lord and Savior. While affirming that Jesus is the only way, scriptures balance that with the affirmation that God can do as God pleases. For God's ways are beyond our total understanding. Truly, God is a God of grace and mercy.

God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three in one. Jesus became fully human as well as being fully God. As Christians, the Holy Spirit dwells within us as we live our daily lives and is among us as we worship.

Scripture is the inspired Word of God, not just a historical or legalistic document. Scripture is alive and it continues to reveal understanding to us as ages come and go. The world and all things are God's good creation. However, individuals in their self-centeredness and desire for power, can, and do, turn good into evil. Even we as Christians can make our own roadblocks. The way will never be straight and narrow. However, if we truly trust and obey God, God will show us the way.

The Good News that God offers us salvation and everlasting life, despite our sins, despite our inability to earn it, is truly good news. Because it is so good, we want others to share in this goodness. For salvation is not just a future gift, but is a gift for the present. When we are born again, we have a new glorious life that begins now and is experienced each day on earth. We desire that glorious life for ourselves and for all of God's creation.

Our response to this loving God is the desire to worship together. For worship becomes the time to praise God's grace and mercy. It is the time to be revitalized by actively participating in thanksgiving, prayer, communion, hearing the Word proclaimed, and sharing the joyful experience with our LPC family.

We are called to be L.P.C., a Loving, Praying and Caring church. Our love, our prayers, and our caring are not bounded by our church walls, or by the boundaries of the community but extend to the whole world. For God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.
